Based on interviews with professionals from the International Committee of the Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders, the play reveals the intimate experiences of those who work daily in contexts of war and humanitarian crisis. In places marked by violence, hunger, and political instability, these doctors and humanitarian workers are confronted with extreme conditions in which they must make life-or-death decisions. In a reality described as “impossible,” these professionals strive to restore the dignity of those who suffer, fighting for a better world, even while recognizing that none of them can save it.
The play aims to question the role of students in society, reflecting on the state of the world, war, migration, collective memory, and hope. Recognizing that the future is a collective construction, the narrative explores the courage needed to break cycles of violence, highlighting the tension between individual and collective responsibility.
“Your play should have three acts.
Act I: I am going to save the world.
Act II: I am not going to save the world.
Act III: The world cannot be saved.
And then the curtain falls.”
