REGAÇO

I collect from the inside out, in the hope of finding him.
I parade my own memories, and recover him through touch.
I face space as a cradle, a shelter for the body.
I move forward in search of him.
I rock him.
I find a deep stability, a place—or a feeling—of home.

I sleep with a warm body
I wake with a wet face
I stretch, dry myself,
and wish he would return to use me again.

Rafael Ferreira (b. 1999) began his studies at Balleteatro Escola Profissional and graduated from the Escola Superior de Dança in Lisbon. He has worked as a performer with Né Barros, Flávio Rodrigues, Paula Pinto, Ricardo Ambrózio, Daniel Matos, Jonas & Lander, Roberto Olivan in co-production with Companhia Instável, Ivana Ivković – Hozek Contemporary, Davis Freeman, Júlio Cerdeira, Madalena Victorino, and Rogério Nuno Costa.
As a choreographer, he co-created Em laivo with Mariana Dias; TAMBÉM é tEU with Beatriz Lourenço and Catarina Marques; and SUPER-STARE with *Mariana Barbosa. These works were presented at national and international festivals between 2020 and 2025.
His artistic practice continues to expand, incorporating participation in short films and dance films into his work.
